Amsah & Nial - April 2009

Yet another brother & sister duo. These two munchkins are closer to my heart as they are my niece and nephew. These pics were taken on a recent family trip to Dallas Texas at an Easter egg hunt.

Zan & Rania - Feb 2008

This was my first time shooting little kids and I was understandably nervous for as we all know, children and especially little babies can be pretty unpredictable and moody. However, this brother and sister duo were extremely responsive, thoroughly fun and absolutely adorable to photograph!

I had the little baby boy Zan situated on a fluffy white rug which he was obsessed with pulling and eating as he was teething at the time. The little girl was a bit more challenging as she was a little 'prima donna' and wanted all of the spot light! She was also just too cute for words in her little red ballerina tutu and her cargo pants!

I had the parents bring the kids favorite toys, not only to distract but also to incorporate into the composition of the portraits. This made for a nice memorable shot!

Overall the shoot was very successful and everyone involved from the photographer (me), parents, & kids had a blast!

Shaza & Usama - May 3rd, 2008

Its been a while since I last posted a formal event on this blog so you can imagine my excitement when I got a chance to photograph Shaza & Usama's 'post-nikkah' party hosted by her sister Siraj. The event was held at the Tall Grass Clubhouse in Naperville, Illinois. It's funny how all my photo gigs are almost all referrals. I initially met Shaza through my sis-in-law Shazia. I'd best describe Shaza as beautiful and jovial with a sunny disposition that is indeed very contagious!

The event was really fun to shoot because it was quite informal and intimate. Shaza looked stunning in lavender, as did all the other ladies who apparently were told to dress in 'jewel tone' colors!
The thing that took the cake literally (so to speak) was the 'Cake' that Shaza's sister ordered for the party. It just looked waaay too cute to eat!

Azu & Walter's Engagement - May 18th, 2007

Having agreed to photograph Azu and Walter’s wedding, I thought it would be a good idea to have the engaged couple pose for some practice shots. The purpose of the exercise was to get an idea of what, kind of angles, and poses; they would be most comfortable with. Azu had warned me that Walter was a little camera shy and so off we went lakeside on Lakeshore drive for our first photo shoot. And though, they were both a tiny bit shy and self-conscious in the beginning, they got pretty relaxed & responsive the further we got into the photo shoot.

Location for the shoot(a park near Lakeshore drive)was Azu's idea. She explained that it was extremely sentimental for them both.

Azu & Walter's Wedding - June 16th, 2007

When Azucena Beltran first asked me to shoot her Wedding, I was not only flattered but also a bit anxious as it was to be my first official photo gig. Azu and I went to NEIU together and that made it a bit more personal. The Wedding took place in Walter's hometown of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Both, the Wedding rehearsal and the Wedding were held at Walter's pictorial childhood home which was set against a most picturesque backdrop of their private lake and the pier. Almost everyone involved with the Wedding was a delight to work with and the overall experience gave me a ton of insight on all the do's and don'ts of Wedding Photography.
